DESCRIPTION
The Vehicle Communication Interface (VCI) serves as the link between a vehicle or an industrial and marine engine and a computer running SDP3.
VCI3 can connect to a computer through a USB cable or a wireless network. The wireless connection can vary based on the specific application needed and the options provided by the wireless setup. The connection to VCI3 can either be a direct wireless link or it can operate through an already established wireless network.
Scania Diagnos and Programmer 3 (SDP3) is designed for interaction with Scania vehicles and other Scania industrial and marine engines. This application is engineered to assist the electrical system through CAN communication. It is utilized for diagnosing issues, modifying customer settings, calibrating, converting components related to the electrical system, and updating software in control modules.
The Bodywork Interface Configuration Tool (BICT) is software designed for configuring the Bodywork Interface (BIC). This tool simplifies the integration of bodywork components using functions within the vehicle’s electrical system. Logic programming is performed in a BIC project, which can include multiple logic diagrams to enhance clarity. The BIC project can be stored and repurposed for other vehicles. BICT functions with or without a vehicle connection. When not connected to a vehicle, it allows users to create new projects that contain logic diagrams and simulate them. The BIC project can then be saved for later use in programming the control unit. When connected to the vehicle, BICT can be used to create a new BIC program or update an existing one in the control unit. Additionally, troubleshooting the BIC program in the control unit can be guided via SDP3.
Scania BNS II Service Tool (BST) is PC software intended for the diagnosis, troubleshooting, and reprogramming of the multiplexed body electric system BNS II, which is utilized in buses from the Scania Omni City/Link or Citywide series.
The USB key consists of three levels:
The High Level is for use with Scania models L, P, G, R, S, T, F, K, and N series (buses and trucks) and the P96 and E2011 engines starting from the year 2003.
The Power Solution Engines level is intended for industrial and marine engines.
The Internal Level, reserved for developers, is applicable to Scania models L, P, G, R, S, T, F, K, and N series (buses and trucks) as well as the P96 and E2011 engines from 2003 onward.
For industrial and marine engines equipped with the S6 or S8 control unit on E2011 type engines, the diagnostic socket is positioned on the engine itself. When using SDP3, an adapter 1862924 must be used to facilitate the connection with VCI.
To program specific parameters, convert file types, and edit SOPS files, refer to the Scania SOPS File ED software.
For programming specific parameters, resetting, and reloading the ECU, use Scania XCOM software.
Supported languages include: English, German, Spanish, French, Japanese, Dutch, Persian, Polish, Portuguese, Swedish, Norwegian, Finnish, Turkish, Italian, Czech, Russian, and Chinese.
